Hanging Pictures…Think Hang-O-Matic
Jared and Karina Rabin, a husband and wife duo, created the Hang-O-Matic. Jared and Karina were first-time homeowners in 2008, and they were presented with a challenge that every homeowner, handyman, decorator, and college student has faced. Karina was putting the finishing touches on her new home office, and the seemingly simple operation of installing a shelf correctly on the wall proved difficult. So the shelf was placed, proudly displaying a treasured snow globe Karina had gotten from her in-laws after several trips to the hardware shop and repairing and repainting the wall. Above all, it held sentimental worth. The snow globe shattered before she could finish decorating, pouring water all over the place. The shelf was skewed slightly.
Jared recalls inventing a picture hanging tool in college. So he dusted off the original Hang-O-Matic prototype and hung the shelf absolutely level in one go. They couldn’t keep this instrument to themselves; they had to share it with the rest of the world. The Hang-O-Matic was formed as a result of Jared’s creative design and Karina’s vision for success, and the couple set out to pursue their American Dream while making life a bit easier along the way.
