The Invention Stories Spotlight

We at the Invention Stories Podcast are trying to improve our listener’s experience.

About two months ago, we recieve an email from a listener telling us our episodes are like reading an ‘About Us’ section on a website.  They said our episodes focus are too generalized and don’t get into the details an inventor has to face on a day to day basis.  I understand this criticism but not sure how to remedy it.  Many times I’ve listen to what’s been recorded and wonder why I didn’t ask a follow up question or how did I miss…  I always wish I had done better.

Connecting with the Inventor

We spend the first part of each interview getting to know who the inventor is.  I like to learn about who the person is…what were they like as kids…did they enjoy school? And I think it’s important the listener can relate to the inventor and we were all young once…but is it?

Not an Option

So I believe if we discuss the details further, the interview will end up lasting 2 hours…maybe longer.  Will someone interested in the Invention Stories Podcast want to download and listen to something that long?    An option would be to break it up into many parts.  I don’t like this option because a single interview could be spread over several months and our long waitlist would grow longer.

The Invention Stories Spotlight

So we trying something new.  Each episode, following our featured interview we will sharing The Invention Stories Spotlight.  Starting with Episode 77, we share the decisions made by Inventor Bret Newman and the amount sold of his Soundverter Turboscoops.

We shared his story on Episdoe 67 of the Invention Stories Podcast…Bret Newman and the Soundverter Turboscoops

Invention Stories Spotlight Inventor and Amazon

Bret is selling them on Amazon and http://www.Soundverter.com.  Since last Wednesday, Bret has sold 4 units on Amazon and 3 on his website.  I recommend he consult with 3 Amazon experts and employ the service he thinks best.  I think this is smart for many reasons…Walmart.com looks at Amazon reviews when considering adding.  I would think every platform or store he would look to sell his Soundverter Turboscoops, they will look at Amazon.  Also, Amazon has lots of customers.

Why Bret Newman is in the Invention Stories Spotlight

We have chosen Bret because…

1.  I’ve added the Soundverter Turboscoops to my father-in-laws tv.  They were easy to install and work!

2.  He currently manufactures them near his house in Ohio.  Great oversight…Made in America…don’t have import concerns.

3.  Small, lightweight,  no mechanical parts…easy to ship.

4.  Large Market.  Most flat-screen tv’s don’t have speakers in the front.
