Hail to the Solution: Hail Protector

Hail Storm Products is a Texas corporation. It was formed in 2011 for the purpose of developing, manufacturing, and distributing the Hail Protector Automobile Hail Protection System.

Hail damage to auto’s reaches nearly $1B each year.  Hail damage occurs throughout the Continental US.  This results in tremendous loss of vehicle value and owner inconvenience, while seeking repair or replacement. Intellectual Property portfolio, including ownership and/or exclusivity, consists of: three patents pending in both products and services, trademarks, and hail damage related URL’s.

The Idea

The idea was born from identifying a solution to a problem that did not exist within the automotive industry for hail damage prevention products.  With over 4 years of design, prototyping and testing has led to products and services.   These will revolutionize the way in which consumers and businesses respond to the threat of hail.

Hail Storm Products, LLC is a Texas corporation. Our team has over 50 years of combined experience in technology, manufacturing, business development, and the hail damage industry, both in the United States and around the world. We are pleased to introduce our founders below.

Michael Siciliano, Co-Founder

Michael is a 23-year veteran in sales and business development.  His career has been largely focused on electronics and power technologies, both B2C and B2B. From his degree in Applied Science (Electronics) to his executive level experience.

Accomplishments

Michael’s career has been marked by significant accomplishments. These include over $180M in direct sales and involvement in over $3B in early-, mid-, and late-stage project development. Among these sales, were the largest solar power system in the history of Texas (Tarrant Regional water District) and the second largest in the entire USA (Panda Power Funds/Consolidated Edison, Pilesgrove, NJ).

In 2008, after 12 years living in hail-prone North Texas, Michael began to investigate methods by which items could be protected from hail damage.

Provisional Patent

After designing and building several prototypes and identifying the best materials and technology principals, Michael filed his first provisional patent for a device in May 2010. Since then, further improvements warranted yet another provisional patent application, with the most recent Patent Pending status effective June of 2011.

Shortly thereafter, Michael reached out to HailReporter.com.  His vision for how an early warning and hail detection system should be an essential companion service to the device, providing a true end-to-end solution and an ideal customer experience.

Steven Krug, Co-Founder

Steve Krug has over 25 years of diverse corporate P/L leadership positions. These include global C level, Division President, and general manager experience. With broad general management accomplishments, Steve has achieved measurable successes within the Hi-Tech, capital equipment, consumer electronics, and web services markets.

For six years, Steve has shared these experiences by being the founder of his own consulting practice. He specializes in coaching small and mid-size business owners on becoming stronger leaders through strategic thinking.

Co-founder of Thinkulus Media, LLC

In addition to his commitment to his clients and the spirit of entrepreneurship, Steve is also a co-founder of Thinkulus Media, LLC., whose Hail Reporter web application reset the bar for hailstorm alerting in 2010.  Most noteworthy, this became his full time passion.

Steve’s other credits include technology/product development and patent licensing, and building unique retail categories. His experience includes domestic and foreign acquisitions and mergers, and IPO (FLIR Systems).  He is a best practices award winner for customer satisfaction, board of directors positions in both for profit and non-profit organizations.  Steve is also an avid competing rower.
