What I learned through researching it on the USPTO website is inventors and small businesses that meet certain financial thresholds and other criteria may be eligible for free legal assistance in preparing and filing a patent application. In other words, if you don’t make a lot of money…you may be able to obtain a patent for your idea for FREE!

So the Patent Pro Bono Program is a nationwide network of independently operated regional programs that match volunteer patent professionals with financially under-resourced small businesses and inventors for the purpose of securing patent protection.
