I'm the founder of Cat in the Box, which makes whimsical cardboard box toys for cats who think inside the box. Cats are crazy for boxes -- there's some serious science to explain why. I thought, "Wouldn't it be nice - for both cats and their owners - to have safe, fun, clean (and highly Instagrammable) boxes for play?

I'm a lifelong animal lover, and designer/inventor of of things for my pets when I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for in a store. Now I'm designing for cats around the world!

I invented a magnifying lens that INSTANTLY makes any eyewear into bifocals or trifocals. It's a clear silicone like lens that adheres to the inside of your eyewear with water. The water acts as an adhesive and the lenses are removable and reusable. I came up with the idea while sitting in a car. My cell phone was ringing and I choose not to answer because I had forgotten my readers at home. I had an aha moment when looking at my clear oil change sticker on the wind shield.

2008 was very trying for us in many ways. During the 2008 recession, we lost our jobs, which caused us to eventually lose our home and business. The loss of my mother at that time was also devistating.. This was an extremely difficult time for me. My health was getting worse which caused me to be in and out of surgery that was followed by a very slow recovery. But not giving up. What meant a lot to me is to see everyone have quality time with their love ones and less time spent on life’s obligations like cook&prep.

I have invented a display board that does without the need for Velcro (hook and Loop) attachments. The board is made from smooth "Hook" material which is Tricot-receptive. Tricot sticky pads can be stuck to whatever is being displayed on the board (think of classrooms, hospitals, universities and businesses) which will adhere to the "Hook" board. Today, Velcro backing is used for such items to be displayed. They attach to a Nyloop board. However, my "Hook" boards with the Tricot backings are a fraction of the cost saving money for the above and affordable for families to use at home.
