Drol Toys
Ruth Amos became Managing Director of DROLS in 2012. DROLS is a start up Toy and Education Company that is developing a range of interactive figures that will not only teach children communication skills and especially relevant basic subject knowledge. DROLS is currently looking for investment to allow it to break into the UK market because there is a need. Drol Toys is pre-revenue and although Ruth did not want to disclose much yet seems excited.
Kids Invent Stuff
Ruth teams up with fellow UK Young Engineer of the Year Award Shawn Brown to inspire children. So 5-11 year old’s have the chance to get their invention ideas built by real engineers on the YouTube channel Kids Invent Stuff . We do this to give more primary school kids the chance to engage with real engineering projects.
They encouraged children to submit their ideas for inventions to solve a different challenge each month. Submit your ideas, drawings or videos to be uploaded here . Therefore only the most creative inventions are featured on their channel. So one idea is built and tested on camera every month. Ruth believes in encouraging small children that learning can be fun and maybe one of this children will change the world.
