Ruth Amos has invented the StairSteady, a non-motorized, affordable option to combat this.

The StairSteady was originally manufactured in her hometown of Sheffield. Ruth moved the manufacturing of the StairSteady to Swansea, Wales. This decision was mainly dues to changes in the StairSteady and some of the capabilities the new manufacturer has. Ruth received guidance in making this decision so StairSteady remains manufactured in the UK.
So lifelong accommodations and keeping people in their homes for longer is important to Ruth. People should consider the StairSteady option in a much earlier stage of life. It’s unfortunate that people tend to find the StairSteady due to one has taken a fall and lost mobility. Finally, Ruth believes the more active a person can stay the better quality of life one will enjoy.
